How do I get to Harpers Ferry?
As you leave the parking lot of the Welcome Center and CVB, go to the stop sign and turn right. Go to the stop light
and go across Route 340 into the entrance of the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. There is
no parking in the town of Harpers Ferry. A bus will take you into the historic town. There is
a $5 charge per car to enter the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. (However, if you are 62 or older, you can purchase a
lifetime membership for all the National Parks for $15.00, a one time fee.)
How do I get to Charles Town?
As you leave the parking lot of the Welcome Center and CVB, go to the stop sign and turn right. Go to the stop light
and turn right on Route 340. After driving 5 miles, Route 340 becomes Route 51 (East Washington St.),
the main street of Charles Town.
How do I get to Charles Town Races and Slots?
As you leave the parking lot of the Welcome Center and CVB, go to the stop sign and turn right. Go to the stop light
and turn right on Route 340. After driving 5 miles, Route 340 becomes Route 51 (East Washington St.),
the main street of Charles Town. Charles Town Races will be on your right across from the fast food
restaurants.
How do I get to Shepherdstown?
As you leave the parking lot of the Welcome Center and CVB, go to the stop sign and turn right. Go to the stop light
and turn right on Route 340. Drive 2 miles and turn right on Route 230. Follow Route 230 for 11 miles
to Shepherdstown. After crossing the railroad tracks in town, turn right onto Princess Street then
left onto German Street, the main street in town.
How do I get to Antietam?
Follow the directions to Shepherdstown. Follow German Street to the four-way stop sign. Turn right on
Route 480 (Duke Street). Cross over the Potomac River the road becomes Route 34 and continue 5 miles to Sharpsburg.
Turn left at the gas station onto Route 65. Watch for
the brown historic sign marking the entrance to Antietam National Historical Park which is 1 mile ahead.
